We have some incredibly talented artists, both established and emerging based right here, sometimes going under the radar but still creating conversation-starting, thought-provoking pieces.
Introducing our second Grimbarians AIR (Artist In Residence).
From her studio based on the Humberston Fitties, Francesca, an award-winning artist, creates vivid, distinctive illustrations that showcase the liveliness and character of Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
Kicking off our Grimbarians AIR project, Sam Delaney and the team at Creative Start use the power of art and creativity to provide peer-support to people in abstinence-based recovery and those facing mental health issues.
You will find Creative Start’s murals across Grimsby, including the St James Underpass in the town centre and the regeneration 'down dock' on Grimsby Docks.
Think of it as a collaboration, a partnership to showcase the conversation-starting pieces of art created by local artists, inspired by their own experiences of life in Grimsby.
Every six months, we will be working closely with a local artist or creative organisation to design and release a collection of artwork, which will be turned into a limited edition collection of merchandise, from t-shirts to prints and more.

In recent years, Grimsby’s profile has seen a change with a wave of positivity thanks to local people's dedication and a growing faith in the area.
Grimbarians is more than a not-for-profit organisation. It is a creative movement, born to change the story line of the town and the way people identify the area.
Through documenting and showcasing the lives of local people, we aim to promote confidence in the area, increase pride and build a stronger, more positive reputation for Great Grimsby because #grimsbyreallyismore.
